Our trip to the top of Haleakala

On our first full day in Hawaii (Oh yeah, if you didn’t hear Meg and I went to Hawaii for our 10th anniversary!), we wanted to make sure we visited the Haleakala Crater.

The original plan was to visit at sunrise. It’s supposed to be breath taking. But the reservation system used to get one of the limited spots was undergoiing maintenance. So we made the best of what we had and went up early morning.

Truthfully, after making the drive I’m glad we did. That road wouldn’t have been fun in the dark at 3am after a day of flying the day before.
