I’m two weeks old today!

I’m two weeks old today and what an amazing two weeks it has been since I arrived on July 3. So many new things to see, smell, hear, taste and touch.

I have to admit, it was a little weird at first. Coming out of my Mom’s warm and comfortable tummy and into this world where my senses were put on overdrive just didn’t suit me at first. I’m slowly adjusting, and since I don’t think there is an option to go back in, I guess I better get use to it.

I spent my first three days at the hospital waiting for Mommy to recuperate and finally got to go home on Saturday. This wasn’t ideal but I know it was best for Mommy and I. Once home, I promptly marked my territory and my Daddy!! He seemed shocked but quickly laughed it off. My Mommy likes to laugh too, especially when I am laying on her and it bounces me all around. I can’t wait until I get to laugh like they do, sounds fun.

Auntie Mel and me

Over the past two weeks I have met many new people who, like my parents, can’t stop looking at me. Being the centre of attention is great! I think I can really get used to this!

Each day has been somewhat the same. Eat, sleep, poop and pee. Not necessarily in that order. I can’t even begin to count the number of times my parents have taken that white thing off my bum and wiped me down. Don’t they know those wipes are cold?! Sleeping hasn’t been really high on my priority list, I try not to sleep more than two hours at a time, mainly since I like to eat every two hours and my belly keeps waking me up. Lately I’ve decided that beds aren’t for me and sleeping on Mommy or Daddy is definitely preferable.  While I think this is a pretty good plan, something tells me my parents are not to keen on the idea.

Oh..oh.. I forgot. Not all the days have been the same, I’ve already have a few adventures. The first few days home we went out almost every day – a few appointments to make sure I was growing and doing well with Mommy and Daddy… Another day the three of us went out to this busy place they called the mall, and then to one of Daddy’s favourite stores, Best Buy. Yesterday was extra special. My Daddy took me out to Costco and left Mommy at home to get some rest. It was a quick outing but it was good to spend some time with my Dad and give my Mom a little break.

It has been an amazing two weeks and I look forward to the next two weeks and beyond. This is just the beginning of my journey!
