Mr. Independent

Everyday Nate wants to try things on his own but today after his nap he insisted it. After his nap we asked if he wanted a snack, which like most kids, he agreed. I offered to go downstairs to get it for him but he stopped me in my tracks when he yelled “NO, ME GET IT!”.

As he went downstairs he closed the gate behind him and then said “stay up stairs Daddy”. Even after all that I think what was most surprising was the fact that he immediately got his snack from the cupboard and came right back upstairs.

Even after all the independence he still needed me to open it up. It’s nice to be needed once in a while.
