First words??

Both Meg and I have been hesitant to say that Nate has said his first word. For the past while he has mumbled lots of things that included “ma-ma-ma-ma-ma” or “da-da-da-da-da”. However, it’s never seems to be directed in any real direction to signify that he knows what he is saying.

For the past couple days he has been doing those same sounds looking at us, and when we respond, he reacts happily with a laugh or coo. I know this is far too coincidental but we have to wonder if he knows what he is doing.

Of course I won’t wait to celebrate his first word when he learns to recite Shakespeare but the evidence needs to be a bit more clear. Until that time we can celebrate the fact that maybe, just maybe he said his first words…
